Prof.
Erika Chrobak-Muñoz is a Second Language Teacher who works at Comahue
University, where she holds two positions. She teaches English as a Second
Language to students in the Communications major and she is a Teacher
Assistant in the Language Teaching Methodology Course for future second
language teachers.
She has had an extensive academic life. In 1990, she attended Tompkins
Cortland Community College (NY) majoring in Business Administration. Back
in Argentina, as a student at the Universidad Nacional del Comahue, she
was a volunteer Teacher Assistant in the Linguistics Department of the
Escuela Superior de Idiomas. She became an English as a Second Language
Teacher, in 1997.
Upon graduation, Erika was awarded two important honors. She received
the Dr. Manuel Belgrano Gold Medal Award, given every year to the student
with the highest grade point average of the Universidad Nacional del Comahue's
graduating class. In addition, she received the Dr. Gregorio Alvarez Research
Grant.
In 1998, Erika went to the U.S.A again, this time as a Cultural Exchange
Spanish Teacher in Monroe Avenue Elementary (Richmond, North Carolina)
with the Visiting International Faculty Program. This position gave her
the opportunity to experience the U.S. educational system and serve a
racially and otherwise diverse group of students.
During her first year in North Carolina, she was offered a Fulbright-LASPAU-PROFOR
Scholarship, awarded by the J, William Fulbright Scholarship Board, LASPAU,
and the Argentinian Ministry of Culture and Education (PROFOR) to pursue
a Masters of Science degree in the United States. She accepted this great
honor, which led her to Cornell University in the Spring of 1999. In June
2001 she obtained her degree and returned to Argentina.
Erika likes playing board and card games. She will teach you how to play
TRUCO, our most popular card game. She likes traveling and the outdoors.
She will show you the best spots in our rivers, lakes and parks, where
you can relax and enjoy the view.

María
Jorgelina Plaza is a Spanish-English Translator who works at the Universidad
Nacional del Comahue. In 1996, she graduated as a Public Translator at
the Escuela Superior de Idiomas, Universidad Nacional del Comahue.
She has 10 years of experience in second and foreign language teaching,
teaching both English and Spanish. She has worked both in public and private
settings. She has also taught Spanish as a Second Language to foreign
professionals for an important oil company. Throughout this time, she
has become an expert on adult language teaching. Jorgelina works hard
to make sure her students enjoy every lesson, while maximizing the progress
in language learning.
Jorgelina likes traveling and enjoys the outdoors. She is the person to
ask about the best spots and tourist places to visit. According to her
students, whom she often joined at spare time activities, Jorgelina is
a joy to be with. |

Verónica
Díaz is a Spanish-English Translator who works at a Spanish/English
school in San Martín de los Andes, Neuquén province. She
has worked both at primary and secondary level in public and private schools.
In 1996, she graduated as a Public Translator at the Escuela Superior
de Idiomas, Universidad Nacional del Comahue. Soon after she got her degree,
she worked for a very important oil company, teaching English to highly
qualified members of the staff.
She has 9 years of experience in second and foreign language teaching.
She has lived in New Zeland for a year, where she worked in the fruit
industry, which led her to improve her knowledge about the language.
Because she lives in a beautiful tourist city, Verónica has plenty
of experience in skiing, trekking and other winter sports. She will show
you the many wonderful spots in San Martín. Verónica loves
vegetarian food, and she's got plenty of recipes that she'd love to share
with you; but if you prefer meat barbecues, her husband, Santiago, is
ready to prepare them for you.
